About
Anastasia (she/her) is an NYC-based queer production sound mixer working in truthful and energetic spaces. Her work has expanded into directing sound-forward narrative projects and producing short documentaries.
Originally from Maryland, these days most of her work takes place in football stadiums, small NYC apartments, and rural political landscapes. Whether on the field with newly-crowned Super Bowl champs, micing up high profile celebrities, or thoughtfully recording documentary subjects when invited into their homes, she is dedicated to ensuring her subjects’ voices are heard clearly and their stories told authentically.
Her directorial projects drop into the lives of her characters, creating intimate portraits of their internal struggles. Her recently completed narrative short Hero's Journey is on the festival circuit, and she is a producer of the documentary My Neighbor's Yard which premiered at Palm Springs and is currently on the festival circuit as well.
She graduated from the BFA Film program at SUNY Purchase in 2021, where she was awarded the President's Award for Achievement in Film and Media Studies, and met her lifelong collaborators. She lives full-time in NYC, when she isn’t solo camping anywhere she can get to in her Subaru Forrester.
Her favorite sounds are the crickets and frogs only heard on a late summer night in the Mid-Atlantic, and will spend a lifetime chasing sounds that make her feel the same way.
